Daggers Need Some Love Too!
I feel as thought the daggers are lacking compared to swords. No reason for the daggers to be so weak compared to daggers and no reason for a sword to out slash a dagger as much as they do regardless if they know tbf or qbf. I'm a d-styler and i find it rather difficult to lock or just poke someone with my little handy shank i call a dagger. There dmg is mediocre compared to the op swords you offer might i add you can get one with the 50 coins we get for free for registering a account. Daggers in general need to be revamped in my opinion i'm not asking for a crazy revamp or anything just make them a little faster and a little more dmg on them. An again i'm not asking for no crazy dmg or no crazy delay. Just make them so we can compete with the swords a little bit. That Plunger and Chainsaw sword are strong as heck. An daggers are lacking in general i don't see many d-stylers on the server so i don't know if i'm the only one that sees this as a problem. I just hope you read this post and just take in consideration that i love daggers and regardless i play with the dagger. Just hoping to see some love to the dagger users instead of just the swords.

Re: Daggers Need Some Love Too!
I agree with your sentiment, and as a D-main myself, I certainly know the plight. While I do agree that kstyle can be pretty broken, I wouldn't go as far to say Dagger pales in comparison.
I'm concerned Daggers would become too powerful if they received a delay buff. That said, I think a small damage increase could be appropriate.
Where we are with daggers right now, I like to consider them the yin to K-Style's yang. Kystyle excels in close quarters combat, where as Dstyle has some shortcoming in CQC. Inversely, Daggers offer considerably more mobility, which plays into Dagger's mid-long range playstyle. To rephrase, daggers, imo, offer a wider range of evasive maneuvers, as well as superior mobility.
Without wanting to ramble too much, I don't think dstyle is in a terrible spot, though I will openly admit that some tweaks could balance things better. Kstyle has an infinite block, but dagger can go through the block by looking down when you make contact with the block. A classic maneuver against Kstyle as Dstyle is to float step (Dash - stab - Jump) to the left or right, then aim down and do a double dagger train (dash - stab (canceling the dash) - repeat 1x) to position yourself to their side. It's certainly not as easy as spamming slash - block with a sword, but it's certainly effective for getting around that shield and avoiding those massives.
When playing more passively in a fight, I'll find myself utilizing the Daggers mobility to create less predictable movement patterns. Float step left, dagger train right, wall kick, dash over them (they turn 180), double dagger train backwards to get back behind them. Easy to land a pb or a stab or two on them before float stepping away from them again.
The TL;DR is;
I certainly understand where you're coming from, swords are dangerously close to being overpowered, but this is how it's been since the game's inception. Dstyle has always been the least popular style (excluding e-style...good god lol the worst crap ever), but that's why we play it. It's technical, it's challenging, it's mobile, it's evasive, and most importantly, it's rewarding. There's no greater feeling, imo, than outskilling kstyle. Kstyle is broken due to the constant block manipulation, but dstyle wins off of skill.
Just my 2 cents on the matter, glad I'm not the only dstyler on the server :p I hope we duel sometime in game

Shotguns and swords have been broken for about 14 years.
The real question is why do single hand-guns exist, or single anything rather.

Re: Daggers Need Some Love Too!
It's fundamentally how daggers work, that they'd be not viable. Sword is simply the best way to play.
K-Style and its variations have always been my favorite aspect of the game.
